Even though we're having an Indian Summer here in San Diego (my friend is having an end of summer bbq the 1st weekend of Oct, so yeah...) I am getting a little excited for fall. I just had these AMAZING sweet potatoes at the Ranch so that kind of kick started "fallness" for me. Plus it's getting a little chilly at night...yep, autumn in right around the corner.
Instead of going to Bath and Body Works to buy their seasonal lotions (which are filled with nasty chemicals anyway, ugh) why not make your own? This body butter is so extremely easy to whip up fresh if you're in the mood or you can make a batch to last a week or so.
Ingredients:
- Coconut oil
- Orange essential oil
- Cinnamon essential oil
- Vanilla absolute
Directions:
How much you want to make will dictate how much of the essential oils you use. The cinnamon is a strong essential oil, so don't go overboard. Test out how much you need and also how it feels on your skin. For one small jar, use about 3 tablespoons of coconut oil, then add two drops of the orange and cinnamon essential oils and one drop of the vanilla absolute. See how that smells and feels on your skin and go from there.
The scents of the cinnamon, orange and vanilla combined are very "fallesque" and are actually perfect for chilly weather because they keep you warm ;) Enjoy.....
xoxo...Kate
