Man, my job is so rad. This past week I got to take a painting class with former Disney animator Dave Zaboski. He worked on Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin back in the day, two of my favorite Disney films. The class was really, really fun basically because I got to be a kid again. I used to draw and paint obessively when I was a kid and I've been getting the itch to get back into it.
So here are some photos of the painting I did, which I ended up leaving down at the Ranch! So sad...
The point of the class was to not think about what you were going to paint, but just kind of let it happen. So, my painting is not really of anything, but as I was working on it, I began to notice a Native American chief and a woman...can you see them? For the most part though, it's abstract and more about textures.
I will be doing a more in depth post on this class on the Ranch's blog, so stay tuned. There will be photos of Dave's painting he was working on and it is unbelievably beautiful. We kind of all just stood there in awe watching him.
