I feel like I can finally breath now. The wedding is over, school is over, I have a job that I love now...the past three years have really been a work in progress and hard in many ways. I knew that I was working towards what I wanted, but it was definitely the in between stage where I had to do things I didn't really want to do. I was in a job that I knew in my heart was not good for me. I knew it would be beneficial in this economy to get my bachelors, but did I enjoy school? Sorry, but no...I'm more of a teach myself kind of gal, ready to get out into the real world. The wedding planning was very stressful at times and took a year and four months.
Flash forward to now...we had the wedding of our dreams, we couldn't have asked for anything better. My old job allowed me to pay off a bunch of debt and meet some incredible people. My degree helped get me my dream job down in Mexico, so you know, it all kind of worked out. For the first time in my life, I feel like I'm really, really on the right track.
I've been thinking a lot about ultimately about what I want out of life. You know, in school, they're always like, just pick one thing, stick with it, and there you have it...you have a career! Sorry, but that is just not the case with me. I've realized that I'm a creative person, but there's not just one thing I want to do. There are like, a lot of things I want to do! So, I've decided to do a bucket list that I'm going to share with you here today. With one exception...I'm going to keep adding to it.
Just a couple of things before I get to the list. The photos above are of a prayer arrow that I made down at Rancho La Puerta. If you're interested in learning more about it, I wrote about it on their blog so feel free to check it out. It's supposed to help make your intentions, goals or prayers come true. A woman I met down there swears by them and makes one every time she goes to the Ranch. I thought it goes perfectly with a bucket list.
Lastly, I don't know if any of you have heard of Washed Out? It's this guy, Ernest Greene, who makes this AMAZING music that I'm just completely and utterly obsessed with. I read this interview with him and I just love his story. He graduated in 2009 with a degree in library studies, but couldn't find a job. So in addition to the job hunt, he started making music on his computer...now he has two albums and he's touring across the country. If that's not inspiring, I don't know what is...don't give up.
My bucket list (in no particular order):
